Re: Freezer issue

If you haven't done it in a while, it might be a good time to clean any exterior coils.

Re: Getting a handle on water consumption

The newer water flow meters have a nice little leak checker built in, in my case a little blue triangle, if, when everything it turned off, it still moves at all, there is a problem.

Um... the older meters have a nice little leak [more]

Re: 2001 Dodge RAM Problems

We've got some issues with this vehicle, mainly cosmetic. The dashboard and bezel are cracked and the bezel has pieces broken off. This is a known issue and has been commented on extensively elsewhere. Chrysler won't take responsibility for the [more]

1poorguy,

Thank-you for filling us in on your toiletry habits and preferences. It always brightens my day a little bit whenever I learn more details of somebody else's personal evacuation routine.

Re: Buy, or rent a house?

You'd be clearing $800/month on $40,000 investment, which is a 24% rate of return.

No you wouldn't.

You average in maintenance, repair, vacancy, legal costs, etc., and your profit margin goes way down. Oh, I'm not saying it [more]

Re: Building a House for Dummies

There are tract builders that will customize a house more than what you listed in your post.

We changed quite a bit. Different restroom layouts, different kitchen layouts, exterior door locations, completely designed the fireplace [more]

I thought racism was treating a group poorly BECAUSE of their differences.

If I treat you poorly AND you're different than me, that does not add up to racism.

Re: tires--do I need new tires?

Which or better Michelin or Bridestone?

Both manufacturers produce quite a wide range of product offerings that include, as you might expect, a wide range of rubber compounds.

Re: What I spent/saved today

xtn and joelcorley,

I appreciate the dialogue about the burger costing more than $17 because it's $17 less than I have to put towards debt. I need to think about every spending decision this way. I hear you loud and clear. It's good

Re: What I spent/saved today

Well, the difference between you and me is I don't THINK $17 is expensive to share a bite to eat with a couple friends when you're single. You have a spouse and kids, so you already have your built in best friends. Singles don't have that, and [more]

Re: Which Spiralizer to buy?

I bet a spiralizer is cheaper than a Lotus.

Re: What I spent/saved today

For a major city, it's not. You don't get 5 Guys pricing at a bar. $9-12 for a burger is typical, $3-5 for a beer, then plus tip it's easily $17.

Oh, I thought of something else to say.... The value of $17 spent on a meal for [more]

I also aim to eat out or get takeout once a week--and I have no excuse like being exhausted from work as we're retired. But I gotta confess, it's often twice--but like you so far, usually inexpensive.
