Re: Poll: Credit Score

I would point out that you are technically taking the debit card fraud risks on even if you only use a debit card as an ATM card

Which is the reason that I need to have the debit card cancelled and an ATM card only issued. My new [more]

The VISA debit card agreement says I have the exact same protections as a VISA credit card. Is this not true?

Re: 42 Things you can do to Spend Less Money

This is particularly useful when spending on houses (and home improvements), cars, vacations, or any other big-ticket items, because the fact that $800 is such a small percentage of the total cost often disguises the fact that $800 is still $800, [more]

Re: Poll: Credit Score

A good credit score makes it easier to rent, lower insurance rates, and other issues not related to taking out a loan. Travel without a credit card is not impossible, but much easier with one.

Re: Pumpkins Usable?

Really? Are you counting summer squash, or crooknecked? Because that stuff is pretty easy to grow, at least it is where I live.

At my parents, it was easy to grow almost anything. Leave squash plants alone and they produced [more]

Re: Pumpkins Usable?

However, pumpkins sold for carving are (I'm told) often not especially flavorful for cooking. Try it and see if you like it!

Re: Pumpkins Usable?

One year I raised baking pumpkins from seed. The variety is called Sugar Pumpkins. They are smaller than carving pumpkin.

Pumpkins Usable?

We carved a large pumpkin into a Jack-O-Latern. But have several 10" to 12" pumpkins that are uncarved and are being for decoration. I don't know their type. Would baking them be useful or should I just get rid of them?

Re: beneficiary designation

A spouse is the only beneficiary that can transfer the account to their own name. Naming the trust as a beneficiary prevents it.
