Re: Getting current stock info

My add-in function uses the file (downloading and parsing the CSV file), but the CSV file is produced by Yahoo.

I used to use just EXCEL to connect to the file, but didn't like the EXCEL Query processing -- it changed from version to version [more]

Re: Getting current stock info

You'd need to set up a data connection that imports the CSV file, parsing it out. The URL has two parameters:

&s=MMM,IBM,MCD,ED

...which specifies a list of ticker symbols to grab data for, separated by commas. You can have up [more]

Re: Getting current stock info

MSN completely revamped their financial web pages a few months ago. They even scrapped the StockScouter ratings.

I had a number of things my add-in picked up from their website, and everything is gone.

If all you need is quotes, I'd [more]

Re: Sony Cancels "The Interview" Relea

Theaters show the film, and NK or just some nut somehow causes mayhem and injuries or deaths? Who pays the civil judgments against the theater and/or SONY? The insurers probably disclaim for reasons that a court just might uphold.

Re: 10 of the most expensive TV shows ever made

How did TV shows become so expensive?

Wrong question. It should be how did they become so valuable?

The simple answer -- the number of people that can potentially view them AND regularly do view them.

It's the same [more]

I figured that was the big secret when there was no attempt made to come up with any kind of gobbledygook explanation for the artificial gravity.

That's what I thought at first, too. But you don't need artificial gravity. A constant [more]

Alas.... I think Dave set the parameters, when he indicated consecutive numbers 12-13-14.

Actually, he said "consecutive pattern"... :)

Re: OT Wisdom from an online cartoon.

December 13th can be written: 12-13-14

It is the last date of this century that will have a consecutive pattern.

How about:

1-2-34
2-3-45
3-4-56
4-5-67
5-6-78
6-7-89
