Re: Bill Gross and Pimco

I'm thinking fall of 1993...

If I knew, my name would be on the door. I will grant you there doesn't seem to be any alternative to U.S. stocks these days.

A real correction would sure be helpful.

Re: Bill Gross and Pimco

Sally, I was going to post about this too. There is some sort of investigation of PIMCO going on. Not only did Gross up and leave, Mohamed El-Erian left too. Check this out....

Beat the Reaper

My high school class just had its 50th reunion. There were 144 classmates, of which 21 are deceased. This seemed like a high number but I think it is probably pretty typical.

Interestingly, only two of 144 wound up on the east coast [more]

BABA

You gotta love a company named after Ali Baba. (Ali Baba was a poor woodcutter who discovers the secret of a thieves' den).

Open, sesame, or, in this case, up twenty five bucks!

Let's party like it's 1999.

Re: Blue Skies

I just connected with a guy on Linked in who was doing some work for us at BONY back in the day. His office had a view of the trade center. After nine eleven we didn't hear from him for two days. Finally, he called from Long Island where he had set [more]

Re: Pulled Pork

The 'que came out great. I was alarmed when I first tasted the pan drippings. Like, no flavor.

But I reduced it in a pan, thickened it with corn starch, added a little salt and it was really good. Would make again.

Here's the [more]

Not the drinkie one, the stockie one. Wow, what an easy sneaky trade that has been. I hold but a modest amount and I bought late, but still...

Re: stock charts:Arms Candle Stick

One of the problems I have with the tools I have previously used in charting is that the market has been so "balkanized" by dark pools and fast traders and ETNs and such that we don't really know what the volume is [more]

Re: Pulled Pork

I'm about to put up the pork for a nine hour stay in the slow cooker. Flavor elements are; smoked paprika, molasses, bourbon, peach preserves, soy sauce, balsamic vinegar, garlic, onions, red pepper flakes, salt and black pepper, plus some stock to [more]

Pulled Pork

Anyone made pulled pork in a slow cooker? I am about to try a recipe for the Redskins... er, I mean Washington opener on Sunday. Wish they would just change the team name and be done with it.

Anyway, recipe involves bourbon, peach [more]

Re: Washington Wine Country

I'm like Naj... I root for the home team, but I have never had a Virginia wine that was worth the price.

Naj, that Bluecoat gin from up your way is excellent!

Sally, it is worth looking for as a special treat. I lean towards Bombay Blue Saphire but I also like Plymouth

Sally, I would rather grow grapes and make wine than do the horse thing.

Dis you see Brad Pitt is getting into the wine business after buying a $60 million estate in the South of France?
