Re: GoT S5 E7

You are assuming that the Jaqen H'ghar is not simply the Kindly Old Man in disguise.

Do people understand where the hall of faces is going? The faceless men would use these faces. But how would they be interchangeable? It doesn't make [more]

Re: GoT Season 6 casting news

I'm like Ken a bit, I'm not sure I care that much, and I may wind up dropping the show entirely next season.

That said...

Re: GoT S5 E7

Maybe I missed something, but how do they have ALL the power now? I get that Cersei gave them some muscle so they could help her reign in the Tyrells but you are telling me that the King no longer has control of the City Watch, the King's Guard [more]

GoT S5 E7

Spoilers

Someone asked a few weeks back what I'd have them pulling out of the show in order to add back in lines that they're gratuitously deleting. Half of this episode could have been ripped out. The scenes with Tommen and [more]

Re: GoT S5 E6

Yeah I read some articles afterward and saw that and my general response was, "So what? That's the story."

Something which was brought up with some other friends... Why do people get so upset over seeing a rape scene, but scenes of [more]

So much controversy out there about the rape scene, and no mention of it here? I watched the episode on Monday night, so I saw spoiler headlines about how HBO crossed the line and general outrage about how horrendous [more]

Re: Fury Road

Saw it last night. It was everything I was hoping for...just exceptional. Without spoilers:

- The action is almost non-stop. You get three or four breaks. They're short.
- The action is awesome. Yes, there's CGI, but it's not overdone, [more]

Re: Dragon Age: Inquisition

Yeah, I echo all that. The way I deal with the inventory management complexity is simply playing the same three side-characters. Keeps things easier, and it's still very complex.

Next, I'm gonna throw in that the story isn't that involving [more]

Re: Fury Road

179 reviews in and it's still tracking 99%. None of the synopses I've read indicate a luke-warm feeling about it either.

Would be shocking for an Acadamy nom for a movie like this, but with across-the-board reviews this strong, I think it's [more]

Fury Road

95 RT reviews, and 94 of them rate it high enough to score "fresh." I've been excited to see this movie, but this is frankly shocking to me and confirms that I'm gonna need to see this in the theaters.

Re: Game of Thrones 042615

I'm curious - what's the thing they've left out from the books that you miss the most, which you think that they could have added if they had more screen time?

Much of the John Snow / Bran adventures north of the wall never happened [more]

Re: Game of Thrones 042615

All of those story lines are fun and interesting, and work as part of a book series, but there's no way that works in TV.

I'm not complaining at you, I think that's the same answer the show would give us, but it's complete garbage [more]

Re: Game of Thrones 042615

If anything, it's less of a concern figuring they won't actually spoil the books. ... I'm going to take a guess that the "winner" will not necessarily be the same in the show and in the books. I know my theory, but a lot will depend on [more]

To be fair, there's also the Fallout: New Vegas from when Bethesda didn't own the franchise. It was garbage (read: glorified DLC), but it was there.

Re: "Jurassic World" Trailer

Significantly picks up after E4. I'm almost finished with the season and it keeps getting better as it goes. The only thing I don't really like is that there's really no "joy" with it. Not even a little comic relief. It's extremely dark. [more]

I liked it. I also liked the Batman voice. Clearly altered so he doesn't have to use raspy-Bale-voice trying to hide his real voice.
