Excel 2007. I have two workbooks, let's call them work1.xls and work2.xls. In work2, I want to get the value of cell F1 on sheet AAA of work1, and this works just fine:

If you don't make any other election when selling a stock that was purchased in multiple lots, you sell the oldest first.

Always used FIFO, even with mutual funds where average cost is usually readily available from the fund company. [more]
