Re: Want to get organized in a hurry? Part Dos

Congratulations Hunzi!!!

Nothing quite like a bunch of folks showing up to "light the fire". That often motivates me as well. So glad the fiances will be pitching in.

Bringing in the wedding planner was a smart move ...... [more]

Re: 1 mil for retirement is enough?

AM ~

We also bought a manufactured home. I have to admit that buying a manufactured home in a 55+ park came as a surprise even to me. But we moved to California to be closer to JT (0x6a74) and our house in WA had not yet sold so we looked [more]

Re: LBYM with Homemade for anyone interested

UPDATE: I am bringing the homemade laundry detergent back into the forefront.

I had been happy with the formula I used: washing soda, borax and Fels/Naptha. I want to say that I added a large bar of Zote and grated that on the manual grater [more]

Re: Egg, turkey meat prices begin to rise

Here in San Diego County the average carton of 12 eggs is hovering around $2.25-$2.50 with some places charging closer to $3/dozen in the grocery stores.

Food was a lot cheaper in Missouri although the fresh produce was a bit higher priced [more]

Re: Millennial Parents Sink Under Weight of Debt

Nancy, I live in San Diego County and mortgages can be had for in the 3% range. To pay $2500/month you would have a home well over $2 million. The home I live in was appraised for about $400k and we refinanced 2 years ago and only paid $400/month [more]

Lea77 ~

But there is a difference in the pillows you actually sleep on and the ones that are just for decoration (I buy the cheap ones for those and the more expensive for the others).

I didn't know we were discussing [more]

And put a pillowcase over them.

I have been using pillow cases all my life. Sometimes things just stain and need replacing. I don't have as good luck washing the pillows without them getting lumpy or the material separating. [more]

Re: best place to buy a pillow

That is just gross and the stains make them unappealing.

You can wash your pillows, you know.

Yes. Done that as well. Stains still appear from head/face oils.

Re: best place to buy a pillow

I second AngelMay's recommendation of Costco. I now prefer down pillows but they also have down alternative pillows. The days of keeping pillows for decades is over. That is just gross and the stains make them unappealing. No one has come close to [more]

Re: Rant: credit card fraud AGAIN!!!

How horribly frustrating! I bank with Chase and brought up my concern. I have never been a victim but was told I could go online and program anything over $1 and I would be notified via email or text when I use my debit or credit card.

That is great news! I know his mental state will be better just because he is home. That doesn't mean things will be any easier but any improvement is to be celebrated!

My goodness, this is informative! The weed is also quite lovely. I like that it is resistant during a drought that we always have in SoCal. The soup is easy enough to make and probably yummy. Have you made it yet?
