Re: Running down a CEL in the s2000

Considering the S2000 hasn't been produced since 2009, I'm not terribly surprised they don't keep the part in stock at every dealership. Especially if it's not a part shared with other models.

Re: Running down a CEL in the s2000

Just got the new coil pack in there... running like new!

I will have to think about keeping a spare on hand, especially since it's a special order part.

Re: Running down a CEL in the s2000

Yours is an Accord, if I remember? How old was it when your coil pack issues started? Mine is a 2002 with 78k miles.

At $150 each for OEM, I don't feel a compelling need to replace all of them just yet, lol...

Re: furnace problem

Something is causing the control board to become damaged.

I must be too cynical. My first thought was that the technician probably failed to root cause the problem, and just took a guess at replacing the control board. ;)

Running down a CEL in the s2000

So, the ol' s2000 finally had a real issue yesterday. DW had driven it to my office to pick me up so we could head to an appointment together. She surrendered driving duties, so I was in the driver's seat. I hadn't moved 100 feet - still in the [more]

Re: Hiding my stuff

I can't imagine that lattice sheets would offer enough structural strength to be moved on rollers - at least not for very many seasons. They're just held together with short staples. I'm thinking of the ones made of thin wood slats, don't know if [more]

Re: Rotted polybutelene piping

While any water leak is bad, the really nasty aspect of polybutylene is it often fails catastrophically i.e. total break, not a slow leak.

Been there, done that, got the T-shirt. Came home late one night to find a lovely waterfall [more]

Re: Skip These 8 Overpriced Groceries

Do you have any idea what buying from bulk bins means?
You can buy as much - or as little - as you need/want.

Apparently not, as I've never seen this in any grocery stores in my area. When I hear "bulk buying" I tend to [more]

Re: headlight renewal--worth it?

If you have a drill handy, these kits work great. As others mentioned, use masking tape around the headlight to avoid scratching the paint. I've used a similar kit from Meguiar's with a wool bonnet and it worked great at removing the [more]

I gave up on this season a couple of months back. Just not enough there to keep me coming back.

Re: I Had To Go To Jiffy Lube

I am curious Milli and TT and all, what do you think their cost on that $63 oil change with air filter was?

I think my parts cost is nearly $65 for the Porsche. 9qts synthetic plus a filter. Apples and oranges though...

Re: Selling car to private party

Would I do this again for the same car - yes. Would I go through this type of trouble for a relatively common car like an Altima - probably not.

I'm really curious what the car was!

Game of Thrones - wow!

I've been wanting to pick up Game of Thrones since we got HBO a few months back. DW was reluctant, but I finally managed to hook her on the first episode a few days before Christmas.

Well, I'm happy to say that we managed to binge-watch our [more]

Re: recommendations to size lighting to a room

This may be coming a little late, but we added some overhead lighting in our living room and entry area when remodeling a few months back. Big room, almost 30' square. Vaulted ceiling, 10' at one end, the peak is over 20' with a balcony from the [more]

Based on the title ("Gone Girl Star") I was expecting the article to be about Rosamund Pike. I actually had to IMDB Kim Dickens to see who she played in the movie.

I'll be tuning in no matter who's in it.

I was the buyer in this situation a couple of years ago. Somewhat unique car, worth some extra hassles. To put that in perspective, I flew halfway across the country (sight unseen) to inspect and buy the car, and drove it home.

Re: 10 of the most expensive TV shows ever made

You say "greedy", I say that both NBC and Warner Bros. (the studio who produced it) were making TONS of money off of the show, in no small part due to the actors in the cast, so they certainly deserved a decent cut.

Re: How is it worth $95K?
