Re: Dealing with time required to eat healthy

Are those numbers on the last line a goal & a stretch goal? I ask because 130 @ 65" would give a BMI of 21.7 which is pretty low. Now for someone who doesn't have a lot of muscle or who has a very light frame, it would make more sense. [more]

Re: Exercise works?

I don't believe the "opining" you reference to other posters is that exercise does not work to improve one's body and make for healthier and more functional muscles. It certainly does.

The divergence in opinion has been whether [more]

Re: Dealing with time required to eat healthy

For breakfast, I have been into roasted zuchinni or yellow squashes lately, when having a fried egg. My substitution, since I can't do bread :)

Hmm. I thought I was being innovative with sweet potato and eggs... [more]

Good idea of the week winner...freeze bananas...

And I thought everyone knew that trick!

You can do it with mangos too that are starting to get overripe, if you plan on using them in smoothies, mango sorbet or cooking them [more]

Re: Dealing with time required to eat healthy

I can't buy two weeks' worth of bananas, or milk, or mushrooms, or bagged salad without having some go bad.

Bananas, if you are using them in smoothies, sauteed in butter for a fruit topping/dessert, or for baking banana cake and the [more]

Re: Anyone up for a Revival?

Nuts are also Whole30 approved. Just peanuts, which are really a legume, are restricted.

AFA white potatoes, I restricted them on my own, as a low-carb thing, but you are "allowed" to include them on Whole30. For me, if there are [more]

Re: Anyone up for a Revival?

Oh, I forgot...itchy eyes. It was especially bad this summer in Portugal. We thought it was from the multiple times we needed to mow the grass when the wind was blowing. It didn't get tended to as usual and we had a lot of overgrowth. We wondered if [more]

What were your (milk allergy)]symptoms. I'm curious to know.

While it can vary from person-to-person, mine were puffy eyelids, teary eyes (becoming goopy when I was on full dairy), itchy ears, itchy throat, stuffy nose [more]

The problem with that is that sometimes people can have the same name. My dad has the same name as a 2nd or 3rd cousin and that guy was a deadbeat.

And while I get that the idea is to clear up one's system for 30 days, it isn't all or nothing and some people can only handle (initially) a couple weeks at a time.

Yes, this too. And if someone is very carb-addicted, I have to wonder [more]

Re: Anyone up for a Revival?

Thanks, Laura. I've had good success with low carb in the past. I had not heard of Whole30. I'll look into it.

The hardest part for me was dropping the cheese. I had already dropped bread, but I think dropping cheese this summer might [more]

I'll start now, if you want.

What worked for me this year was going low/er-carb. I had done it for a few months last year, in order to get rid of a chronic intestinal candida yeast infection, along with using some anti-fungal herbals, [more]
