Re: Harvest

Similar story for apricots, they only develop sweetness while ripening on the tree. Apricots for the commercial distribution are picked early and never develop the sweetness and flavor ("ambrosia") that you get with tree-ripened [more]

Love, love, love figs. They're starting to come into season here in Portugal. It's a blessing to enjoy them fresh and local. We can only get dried in the NE. Not the same.

The trees grow like weeds here and are often found on the [more]

Brains is a delicacy in some other countries. I had it once in a 3-star French restaurant. "Food for thought." ;-)

Years ago, we used to have brains periodically, especially as part of scrambled eggs. Yummy! It was a [more]

Re: Ceiling Fans

Will this be fan only or fan/light? If your existing wiring to the wall switch is one-wire, you'll have to also use the pull chains on the fan to switch between fan and light. If you want separate controls for each on the wall, perhaps with a [more]

Re: Floor tiling job - OK or terrible?

Re: Floor tiling job - OK or terrible?

That is not a good tile job. I just finished tiling a galley kitchen and I can do a better job with spacing with or without spacers than that. And the last time I tiled was 20 years ago. The cut out for the electrical box is poorly done as well. [more]
