Re: Apple pay moving the needle (not) article

Perhaps like a device that is strapped to your wrist (hard to forget it if it's connected to your body) that you wave in front of a sensor on your way out of the store? :-)

Well, that sounds like an Apple Watch, which you explicitly [more]

Re: Apple pay moving the needle (not) article

Apple has demonstrated quite clearly that they can be the most profitable business in history not by worrying about "the masses", but rather by delighting a select few (relatively) of the more discerning customers in the [more]

Re: Apple pay moving the needle (not) article

When the Apple Watch allows you to avoid taking your iPhone out of your pocket or purse dozens or (frequently) hundreds of times daily...and it allows you to simply lift your wrist to the pay terminal as you stroll out of a store...and it allows [more]

Hmmm, many millions bought a little device that you stick on your car window to make paying tolls a little more conveniently.

I think our definitions of "little" differ. EZ-Tags (or whatever they're called where you live) [more]

I'm not ashamed to be be right-handed, male, and heterosexual. Still, it would strike me as silly to claim pride in such attributes.

Kind of, but much less expensive, the kind of thing that the masses can and will get themselves just as a convenience.

People are going to buy a device just so they can use it to pay for things a little more conveniently? I don't see [more]

Re: Doogie Howser

Well, since they are both dead, it probably would not be a very exciting show if they hosted.

But it would still be better than the Anne Hathaway / James Franco show.

Re: Feature or personal security hole?

I'm not sure how I feel about this security wise, but I am pretty bothered by Siri's grammatical error (when you say "Whose phone is this?" it displays "Who's phone is this?").

Re: 2 cents on APPL. Disagree?

The problem comes in that the credit card number is sent.

Nothing I'm reading says that the actual number is sent. Do you have something saying that's the case? Everything I'm reading says that, from the POS POV (because I like PO [more]

The major difference is that the iPhone sends it's token card number (That was given to the iPhone when it was set up via the internet) along with a time/device derived mash up number. A chipped credit card sends the credit card [more]

Would that happen even when phone is in "do Not disturb" mode????

Probably. "Do Not Disturb" means the phone won't disturb you. You can disturb Siri while the phone is in that mode all you want.
