Re: I Had To Go To Jiffy Lube

Todd,
I was not worried about your comment. I was just trying to make sure an oil change was still a loss leading money loser.
Sometimes you just have to step back and ask yourself what more can you really do?
In defense of shops [more]

Re: I Had To Go To Jiffy Lube

I am curious Milli and TT and all, what do you think their cost on that $63 oil change with air filter was?
They have the top and bottom guy working for ten minutes each on your car, and then the office guy writing and collecting the bill and [more]

Re: Air pressure warning

The detail is that the NHTSA requires all TPMS systems to light the warning light within 20 minutes if the inflation of any one tire drops to 20psi no matter what the manufacturers spec is, with higher pressures for higher load [more]

Re: Engine Light

Can the light come on and later whatever caused it basically clear, but the light not reset itself?

Yes.
But whatever caused the problem may be intermittent, but it usually does not fix itself. You or the mechanic should pull [more]

Re: 100,000 mile Silverado

My perspective is how often, how easy, and how expensive a vehicle is to repair.
In my experience among full size trucks GM trucks are the most reliable and among the least expensive to repair. Fords are also usually inexpensive, but need help [more]

Re: 100,000 mile Silverado

That is probably the best truck on the road right now.

Re: Key Getting Stuck

Hope that helps,

Re: Tire wear

Todd,

I should have read the tire rack article instead of just the comments in this thread, which lead to my questions. The tire rack article pretty well addresses them and makes the point that the new should go on the rear unless the [more]

Re: Tire wear

Hey Todd,

If I buy four new tires from Michelin tomorrow their salespeople are going to recommend that in 7500 miles I rotate the worse tires to the rear and the better to the front.
Rotating tires is probably still good advice, as per [more]

Re: Tire wear

Todd,

If 20 out of 20 could not negotiate an off ramp with the good tires on the front, exactly how bad were the back tires? It sounds to me as if, in trying to demonstrate a point, that the worn tires had to be shot to the point of being [more]
