An Interview with brownap02

Last updated: 1/20/2016
The Fool:
What industry do you follow most closely and why?
brownap02:
Restaurants are an important one for me as I find it very easy to understand a good hamburger and what this means for the prospects of the business.
The Fool:
What's your greatest athletic achievement? Little League champ? Ran a marathon? Did 4 consecutive sit-ups?
brownap02:
I finished first in a 5k about a year ago. It wasn't the longest race in the world with a 5 k being only about three miles, and only about 30 people ran it but hey, I finished first nonetheless.
The Fool:
How'd you find out about the Fool? (Make your answer as colorful and truthful as possible.)
brownap02:
I first read the Motley Fool's series of books published in the late 90s/early 2000s and I have been a fan ever since.

My Story

I am individual who has worked diligently for financial independence and my experience has taught me that productive assets that generate earnings are superior to "brick" type investments that just sit there and lead to a fear and greed game of musical chairs.

How I Invest

I seek out businesses with long-term competitive advantages, rational and honest management and a good price. Once I have located such a business, I run it through a few valuation models to ensure a margin of safety is present before buying.
