Re: priority lines for plane boarding?

So far as boarding with the disabled folks: I was always under the impression that the point of that sort of boarding was to allow those with mobility issues to get down the aisle and into their seat without being jostled around by their fellow [more]

Re: priority lines for plane boarding?

I guess you could board with the pre-boards (the people-requiring-extra-time group.)

Thanks for linking to a previous gazillion-post thread on same topic, to avert a rehash. I'm not very optimistic a rehash will in fact be avoided, but it does seem to be taking a little longer than usual to get going this [more]

Re: Vinyl versus Steel

Steel siding? Never heard of it. I'm picturing rust, lightning rod, etc; although I'm sure that's been taken into consideration.

Rather than vinyl or aluminum, I'd go with a fiber cement board, such as HardiePlank. My house is brick, but for [more]

Good!

I had a property line dispute with a neighbor where my question (to self) was: "Is she really that stupid, or is she trying to pull a fast one?"

Re: minor ethical dilemma: Is this a lie?

You lied, but that's not the problem.

The dilemma I see here is that you did something for your client, and someone else, who is not your client, had questions about it. In general, as a consultant, you should answer your client's questions, [more]

Re: OT: funeral protocol?

Thanks all,

I've decided to:

- Go to the wake at about 6, sign the guest book, express condolences to Dad's friend, and play it by ear how long to stay after that.

- Skip the flowers. If Dad wants to order flowers, the [more]

Re: Water heater question.

...surface area is a function of the square of the radius.

Surface area of a cylinder:
top or bottom = pi*r^2
side = 2*pi*r*height

So most of the surface area varies linearly with the radius.
