Re: 5 Items We Don't Buy Anymore: Why?

Re: OT: America's Ancestry

The categories overlap and are not comparable. As I said, a lot of us could claim ALL of those categories and not be far off.

Re: Hillary! staffer pleads the Fifth

I could put up with some of the doublespeak if she, just once, could come up with a plan that is not so complex that I can't even figure out what the principle behind the plan is and how it is supposed to get to the stated goal.

Re: YES! Kim Davis jailed!

I wonder if she would have a case against her legal counsel. They are NOT serving her best interests at all. On the contrary, they seem to be using her for their own purposes (can't they be disbarred for that??).

I think her spiritual [more]

Interest fallacy

I'm taking the liberty of posting a link to bjchips's post here, because it sums up what I've been trying and failing to say, although I don't think that money represents work done. I think it is just an accounting system. But I don't see how you can [more]

Re: Europe biggest threat

A huge mass of desperate people is always a threat, unless you do something to make them less desperate and less of a mass.

Re: OT: America's Ancestry

Kind of a mish-mash of groups, isn't it? I'd imagine any of us whose ancestors have been here a while could claim all of them, though.

Re: Trump just as rich in S&P 500 index?

Not that I have any skin in this game, but managing your living expenses is part of building wealth, so he gets no credit from me for having wasted money in his lifestyle.

I'm willing to believe that after her conversion she became hypersensitive to such issues (because of her own checkered past) and has a tender conscience. So, from the Christian point of view, her error is that she is attempting to serve two masters, [more]

Re: load-aim-fire

Experts say factors may vary from city to city, but no-one really knows what has caused the trend, which was first identified this summer.

Re: Rethinking work

Really, just think about what you would do if you did not need any money. A few people might binge on TV, but most of us would go and and get busy doing something we consider worthwhile.

Re: Solar disrupting electric utility in NV

We have our bills broken out by "delivery" and "supply" with lots of little subcategories, but most of them are kind of cryptic. Anyhow, the actual electricity is only about half of our bill, the rest is service fees and taxes.

This reminds me so much of the election in which Jimmy Carter was defeated.
