Music can be pretty key to the experience, depending on the game, alerting you to tempo changes or something that's about to happen, etc. That said, I'll often turn it down (as others have said) so it doesn't drown out the speech (#1 important IMO) [more]

Thanks guys - I'll certainly take a look at all that. Acer is Win7 while Lenovo is Win8, so that might be the first place to start. I'm out of town at the moment but I'll dig back into it this weekend.
