Justin Loiseau

Justin hails from the great united state of North Carolina, where he started his first business at the ripe age of five: melting crayons into candles. With the infamous Crayola Crash of 1994, Justin moved on to study economics and environmental studies at University of North Carolina as a Morehead-Cain Scholar, and recently completed a Master's in Economics at the University of Auckland as a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar. He has worked in a variety of sectors across the globe, from management consulting to the United Nations, and is a 2012 graduate of the Foolish Freelance Writers Academy. In his spare time, you can find him running randomized controlled trials in Uganda.

An Interview with TMFJLo

Last updated: 9/10/2013
The Fool:
Briefly review your favorite book.
TMFJLo:
Dr. Seuss' "The Lorax" is a story about trees, love, common pool resources, imperfect information, and irrational consumers.
The Fool:
What industry do you follow most closely and why?
TMFJLo:
Rather than a specific industry, I follow a specific ideal. I admire companies that make decisions based on principles that their backward-looking competitors won't adopt for years. Whether it's environmental efficiency metrics or employee happiness, "first movers" on corporate responsibility, accountability, and transparency will reap returns down the road.
The Fool:
What's the best product you use that most people don't know about?
TMFJLo:
In Europe and many other parts of the world, showers have two knobs: one to control water temperature and one to control water pressure. You set the temperature to your ideal level, and NEVER have to touch it again. No more freezing cold or burning hot showers, no more precious minutes of your pre-work morning stolen by an angsty shower knob, the future is yours for the taking!
