My Area of Expertise:: I work toward absolute profits over any reasonable period of time (2-3 years) using long-term stocks, shorter-term options, ETFs, shorts/hedges. The goal is steady returns with less volatility and reliable income that can be used as wished.

Money I Manage:: Dollars, pesos, euros -- whatever you want. My family is invested primarily in U.S. dollars and Costa Rican Colones (nice interest rates! nice inflation, too (ahem)). I also have a few hundred euros somewhere in the drawer, and some old francs, marks, lira, pesetas... I'm ready for the euro to fall apart.

Personal Quote:: Don't make it your aim to sell at absolute peaks or buy at the lowest lows (that's impossible). Instead, invest to earn profits overall in a rational way. Don't get involved in short-term investing races (against an index, etc.): you don't want to feel pressured to act. On options: use the strategies that work again and again. This is a long quote, I know.
