Scott is a former licensed trader and trading instructor at Fidelity Investments, and has traded equities, fixed income and options for his own account since 1989. In 2004 he added FOREX trading to the mix, and rumor has it that he soon fell in love with the concept of the carry trade. A self-described math geek, Scott received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Northeastern University and has worked both as an engineer and as a software developer. He authors The Capitalist Trader, a blog focusing on the use of statistical research in support of trading. When he's not blogging, researching or writing for The Motley Fool, Scott is probably either playing RuneScape, at the gym, watching science fiction or (most likely) asleep.
