OT: In Your Face

Years ago my barber was talking about a client who lost an eyebrow for unknown reasons and told the client that it could have been microscopic insects. "Everyone has microscopic bugs in their hair and eyebrows," he told me. I couldn't [more]

Please, allow me to rephrase that:

Re: OT: A Highly Concentrated Port

I don't see much in the way of foreign holdings.

Right you are, by design. I figure if something happens in the Ukraine, Europe will be diving for the basement immediately and only a little slower if ISIS starts a new terror campaign. [more]

Re: OT: A Highly Concentrated Port

Where are you getting a 27.4% CAGR on cash?

Error--I had to insert, copy and paste a line to include a line for cash. Forgot to erase the last column. The size % is correct. So I still might be holding too much cash.

It isn't for the faint of heart and might well become a real white-knuckle ride. But it fits me. :)

I wonder how many times over the last 6 months I’ve asked myself if this was the top of the market, fully realizing that It’s a useless exercise but I also wonder, who among us has not asked ourselves this very question. My strategy for dealing with [more]

Re: OT:The rules of the game shift

ISIS has been quoted as saying these things. Do you deny that?

Of course not, Dave. I'm only saying that a prudent first response would be to ask ourselves WHY? How did this happen? Why do they single out the US for extermination? Why [more]

How to Keep a Customer & Lose Win8

A couple of weeks ago I ordered a top of the line Lenovo AIO computer with a 29" screen wide enough for 3 adjacent windows and a Windows 365 subscription for 5 pc's. As the delivery date neared, I was having a bad case of buyer's remorse as well [more]

Re: OT: Well I guess, this is what happens when Micr

I've long though that Mr. Softy would end up owning and charging for the very air we breathe. Now I know that was a silly thing to be concerned about.

'Cause now I know they'll have to bid against Google for ownership.

Re: How much is 20 billion a year anyway?

Silly boy, people who actually move billions of dollars know better than trying to count them because they don't exist. No, they just hit "Enter" and read the total, right before they move it from the customers' accounts to their [more]

Re: How much cash?

Right now my 'problem' isn't how much cash to hold, it's 'what's on sale to buy?' with excess cash that totals way over my soft target amount.

For the last 2-1/2 years, my return on holdings have blown away all the indices--pure [more]

Unfortunately, we can't BE intelligent just by wanting to. If we could, there would be no one left to be in the Republican party. :)
