Re: How to Grill a Great Steak

I like the way that the outside is chard, just on the outside, and not further, that the inside is the same degree of doneness throughout the steak, and that all degrees of doneness are juicy, throughout.

Re: Chef's Pan

I was thinking about maybe taking it to a machine shop, but I have so many great vintage skillets, that it's not worth the cost... Besides, it should cook really well as it is.

If AC isn't interested, and no one else is, I will season it [more]

Is that the idiot with the muzzle of his rifle stuck in the dirt? I hope he clears the bore of the barrel before he fires the rifle!!

I also found a vintage Waring Ware #9 cast iron skillet that I hadn't finished restoring. It has a heat ring and the inside is very smooth with very little pitting or scratches, but it has a little wobble on a flat surface. If you're interested, I'll [more]

On a local radio broadcast that played some of Wilson Grand Jury testimony, Wilson said that Michael Brown started to charge at him from around 15 ft away. He said he shot him twice with bullets that hit him, as he saw him flinch. He then said that [more]

I also bought a #8 Wagner Ware cast iron Chicken Frier with glass lid - somewhat pricey, but I've wanted one for a while:

Chef's Pan

I've long wanted a cast iron Chef's Skillet. I bid on this Wagner Ware 9", until the bidding went over $80 + $10.92 shipping, with 17 bidders... besides getting tired of listening to the crappy music. Then I stopped and let it go. [more]

I found a Griswold #9 small logo skillet that I cleaned and seasoned some time ago. It doesn't have a heat ring, but it sits perfectly flat on a sheet of glass. The outside looks like it just came from the factory. The inside is very smooth and flat, [more]

Re: computer question

I don't know why there should be a problem ghosting a RAID-1 array. Basically, RAID-1 disks are just mirrored. There is no striping and no parity. I can see where a RAID-0 array might post some challenges.

Re: stabilizing an empty home for extended perio

At some point, you'll need to talk to the homeowner's insurance agent/company. Many policies have exclusions for a vacant house.

I'm not sure how long you have before they consider the house vacant. I'd hazard a guess it's something like
