Re: I'm Living on the SNAP grocery budget?

Oh yeah. Amazon Prime is my best friend. 2 boxes today with shoes and workout gear. Box coming tomorrow with my new dining room light.

Time not spent driving all over town: priceless.

Re: I'm Living on the SNAP grocery budget?

Walmart and Kroger's both have chicken leg quarters in 10 lb bags for $6.90/bag. I also sometimes find 10 lb bags of leg quarters at the United Grocery Outlet store for $5.90 for ten pounds per bag. Also Sav-a-lot sometimes has 10 lb bags of [more]

Re: Texas Veterinarian Thinks She's 'Awesome'

I worked with Veterinarians all my life. I have a difficult time believing this story really even happened. I suspicion it isn't.

Why do you think it's not real? It's been reported in multiple news outlets.

Re: Texas Veterinarian Thinks She's 'Awesome'

I'm a cat person (although allergic so don't keep one), but I think there are way more feral (and domesticated) cats (and dogs) than are good for the environment and I prefer to protect wild birds rather than feral cats. Where feral cats are [more]

Re: Texas Veterinarian Thinks She's 'Awesome'

A vet really couldn't tell the difference between a pet cat and a feral cat--or chose to err in the aggressive direction? Perhaps she was simply too anxious to baptise an arrow in animal blood. If it was an honest mistake, it may still be one [more]

Because some women enjoy being micro-managing fools once they're in positions of management and they seem to enjoy focusing on things that don't really matter.

I know a guy who used to be a VP at Chase bank in Manhattan. He said he was trashed for wearing the WRONG SHADE of blue shirt to work. Now that's just going a bit far, I think.

Re: I wonder how much this would save me...

I have a uniform of sorts. Basically black slacks and various blouses, black flats, and jewelry that sort of goes with everything.

It probably saves me some money, but more than that, it saves time. I don't have to think about what I'm going [more]

It is likely that rates will go up over the next few years. Taking a lump sum and waiting a couple of years to purchase a similar product "might" be an option.

If a person were to do that, they would have to factor in the [more]

Re: Laundry help - black jeans?

You might try adding a cup of vinegar to the wash water. That's good for removing BO and mildew odors. Not sure if it will affect the color of the jeans, though. Baking soda is another option.

"Why you should want more."

This leaped out at me, and I read through it. Tony Robbins says that no matter how rich you are, you should always want more, but it's not about greed, it's about helping others. Seems like an interesting topic of discussion.
