An Interview with LovePeace

Last updated: 8/4/2017
The Fool:
Given a second chance, what financial decision would you like to do over?
LovePeace:
If I had known about investing when I was younger, I would have taken a small portion of the money I had at the time and invested it in a long term account and never touched it. Instead, it all got spent on cars, wedding, etc. Always put money away for a rainy day when you have extra.
The Fool:
Briefly explain how you select stocks.
LovePeace:
I read, read, read, just about everything at the Fool on the Stock Advisor, Rule Breaker, and Inside Value stocks. I take a very personal approach when I make my selections. I have to like what the company is doing and I have to see a long term benefit to the world for the company's existence. Sometimes that benefit is simply happiness and sometimes it's more. Not all Fool stocks meet these two simple criteria so it really narrows down the field for me. I feel more of these companies will be coming in the future.
The Fool:
What's been your best investment to date, and how did you discover it?
LovePeace:
TSLA is still my best investment to date although I no longer own it. (Update: Bought it back in 2017.) This one I found on my own before joining the Fool services. I thought the idea of an electric car was hitting the market at the right time so I bought a little of this very speculative (at the time) company in February of 2013. Now however my purchase of Nvidia (NVDA) in August of 2015 is about to beat that record. The market had been flat during that time and I was looking for something to buy to juice my returns so I researched all the stocks recommended in Stock Advisor and came across NVDA which was getting no coverage at the time. I ran the idea by someone who knew more about Nvidia than me (my son) and learned more about the company and decided to buy a small amount which I still own.

My Story

Starting over from scratch rather late in life. Hoping that investing "Foolishly" will release me from my cube.

How I Invest

Once I realized the Fool was investing in pretty much the same stocks I was, I decided to free up my time by joining Stock Advisor and let them do the heavy lifting for me. I invest once a month with what is left of my paycheck come rain or shine. No timing involved. I just pic a new rec, a best buy or add to what I've already got.
