Ben: A number of reports have come out in the last few years that indicate the net financial cost/benefit of cutting heat-trapping pollution is a net positive benefit.

I find this extremely ironic.

Re: Antartic Ice More Again

When reading articles about Antarctic ice, we need to remember that there is an important difference between "sea ice" and the "ice sheet".

Sea ice is ice floating on the sea. Sea ice includes ice shelves that extend out [more]

Whither Scotland's Empire?

Ever since Scotland acquired England in 1603, the provinces to the south have been a problem. I do admit that the acquisition was stunningly profitable for centuries, as the English navy and its tiny contingent of land forces conquered a quarter of [more]

YES, you are correct. Saliva and other body fluids can also transmit ebola -- though I suspect that is because they contain blood. In ebola, like other hemorrhagic diseases, blood leaks out of arteries and into just about everything.

Yes, I think we can safely attribute ebola's reduced lethality to genetic changes. This strain of ebola has a mortality rate of 50-55%, compared to the previous outbreak's 90-95%.

We need to remember that ebola is passed through contact with [more]
