Re: Block excutables until IT approved

My bank is better: They ask my name and look it up in their files. If they had another customer with the same name, they would ask for my address.

My first thought was why would they use my SSN. My second thought was what if this was [more]

Re: Speaker quality

If I turn the volume up loud enough to hear, it buzzes and distorts horribly

Is it possible that your hearing is the problem? I work with a lady who owns an S5. She turns it up so loud I can hear everything that is said over the phone [more]

Re: Block excutables until IT approved

Re: Memorex Traveldrive lockdown

Yes JD, as you mentioned running the OS from a CD or flash drive is an excellent way of determining if a problem is hardware or software related. And the Ubuntu version never seems to have a problem finding all the hardware, especially the [more]

Re: Incremental vs Differential

The complexities of incremental and differential backups aren't worth it to me. I just stick with full backups.

Same here.

Personally, I do Acronis FUll-Backup ones a week, and Run Karen's Replicator daily, for all Data. [more]

Re: NAS Recomendations

I was leaning toward the Buffalo Linkstation. The re-purposed desktop sounds interesting though maybe more work than I want to go through right now.

Space is also a concern, I really don't want to make a place for a full desktop server. I [more]

Re: Printer problem

Checking the cost of cartridges before buying a printer is a good idea. Personally I gave up on inkjet printers and purchased a Samsung monochrome printer back in 2005 for $82 shipped to my door. It came with a starter cartridge with a 1000 page [more]
