Mine, too.

I take the view that if there is no reason why, that the increases are illusory. That is either just more irrational exuberance, or inflation of the US dollar.

But some became hogs for connection. So my experience that some ISPs do give you more speed, ie higher priority, for so many minutes per day etc. So when you exceed that max speed time your priority gets lower and you wait longer.
