Jeffrey Pelletier is an Economic Development Specialist at the New Bedford Economic Development Council and the New Bedford Wind Energy Center. He focuses on supporting Economic Development Council efforts in the areas of; growing existing and small businesses, attracting emerging industries, communicating a positive message, developing strategic sites, preparing a ready workforce and capturing long-term catalytic opportunities for growth in the City of New Bedford. Pelletier also assists with the incubation of the Wind Energy Center, an entity focused on supporting the emergence of the offshore wind industry in the United States and fully capturing all of the opportunities for maximum job creation and private sector investment across New Bedford from this emerging market.
Previously, Pelletier was a Program Director for Executives Without Borders, a non-profit organization dedicated to engaging the business community in solving the world’s greatest humanitarian challenges. In Haiti, he directed a nationwide jobs and recycling program that collected over 35 million plastic bottles and generated over $250,000 in incomes for communities in need. In Honduras, he directed private sector engagement projects to increase the sustainability of the life-saving medical and community develop work for the non-profit organization Central American Medical Outreach.
Pelletier received his B.S. in Business Administration from Methodist University in North Carolina. He earned a concentration in PGA Golf Management and has worked at top golf facilities including The Country Club in Massachusetts and The Augusta National Golf Club for the Masters Tournament in Georgia. Pelletier is the Treasurer and a member of the Executive Committee of the Board of Directors for The Ocean Explorium. He is a graduate and a member of the Board of Directors of Leadership SouthCoast. Pelletier is a member of the SouthCoast Hospital Group Business Council and the New Bedford Economic Development Council. He is also a volunteer at the Ron Burton Training Village.
