Re: Not Showing ID to Police

So again - while Watts' anger might be justified, her response was foolish. As I mentioned in another thread, my father had The Talk with me at an early age about how to manage an encounter with the police; it's a basic life skill, which Watts [more]

Re: Hobbitt 2: TDoS

I thought it was OK but for the most part I've been really disappointed with the Hobbit movies. The extra stuff they've added distracts too much from the story. It's like they came up with a bunch of insane action sequences they wanted to do and then [more]

Please could we not lose sight of the point, which is that regardless of the reason for it, dehydration can kill quickly.

It can, especially in people with kidney problems (or some other health issue which affects kidney function), [more]

Re: passwords revisited

You can get some 2-factor authentication with the free version. I use the Google Authenticator app on my cellphone to generate keys.

I've been using the free version for over a year and only recently ponied up the $12 for the paid version [more]

Re: passwords revisited

So from the last discussion I downloaded and began using LastPass. As I suspected it is only online (browser). But that's fine. It seems to work well. Assuming the "vault" is encrypted so even they can't read it, it's probably [more]

Anyone else here watching this slow but gorgeous sci-fi-ish drama?
Just curious. Hasn't been mentioned since the one time in its first week.

I'd call the time travel aspect more fantasy than sci-fi, but regardless, the show [more]

Re: passwords...

I wonder how the programs others are mentioning deal with this (i.e. what if the password they generate isn't considered acceptable?)

Lastpass allows you to change the following parameters when generating a password: length, caps, [more]

Re: passwords...

How does "LastPass" differ from the feature already present in most browsers (they always ask "remember this password" and give you the option to say "yes" or "never")?

You should check out [more]

Seems to me they've taken it too far when a person has to resort to this.

As someone who formerly used a personal algorithm for passwords I recommend Lastpass.com. Personally, my algorithm wasn't that [more]

The Quest

Anyone watching this one?

It started a few weeks ago and is a Survivor-like show set in a sort of medieval fantasy setting. There are about a dozen "real" players (Paladins) trying to become the hero of Everworld and every other [more]

On the other hand we are watching Deadwood on Netflix DVDs and it is really good. And Deadwood is a show about something rather than nothing.

I'd like to comment but I think it would be considered a spoiler. Anyway, I do agree that [more]

Milk comes from the teat of a mammal. The name should probably be restricted accordingly. I'm not going to picket over it, but I think it's a valid labeling complaint.
