No, I didn't. This is from the debt my wife came into the marriage with. Before she met me, she was not particularly good in the way of finances. When she had [more]

I can't answer all your questions, but I did want to point out if you are intending to deduct the cost of the space, it has to be used exclusively for business. In other words it can't be an occasional guest

Wife is at-home employee, I am self-employed

So I have until next year to figure all this stuff out, but as long as it was on my mine I decided may as well ask now.
My wife works at home (web developer for company in another state). Her office is one of the rooms of the house we rent.

Selling Home w/First-Time Homebuyer Credit left

This is somewhat related to one of the other posts I made asking about what I need to make for quarterly estimated tax payments this year, but after trying to do some research I have a new question/quandary.

I bought my condo in 2008 and got [more]

I stepped away from the board for a few days and almost wasn't going to post a reply simply because of xtn's rather obnoxious comments...and that's all I have to say on that.

Not to beat a dead horse, but have you already gotten both you and your wife's student loans on some type of reduced payment plan? Sounds like anything you can do to reduce your cash outflow helps this situation. Also, are you underwater on your [more]

Re: Hardship Forbearance

Those deal with student loan repayment. It is my Home Mortgage for the condo I'm trying to sell which is the issue. That's what I'm trying to find a way to not being paying the mortgage each month while I try to sell it.

If the lower price would require you to bring money to the table, and you don't have it, then talk to the guy at the bank about how you would need to do a short sale. Or you could rent your condo out.

Re: Homebuyer Repayment included for Tax Penalty

Yes. It does.

You might want to check to see if 100% (or 110% if your income is over $150k) of your 2014 tax results in a smaller payment. The balance would still be due next April, of course.

Homebuyer Repayment included for Tax Penalty?

When I bought my condo in 2008, I got the $7500 First-time homebuyer "loan". So I've been paying the $500/yr since then. Due to my being laid off end of last year, my wife & I have now moved from my NY condo to DE (where we are [more]

The part that I'm also waiting for GF to do is the historical split. Like when I look at Apple, it shows the 7:1 split in June of last year and that fixes the price curve to look proper.
