There was one, I believe, misunderstood word in that Amazon exchange that made WEB look very bad. But he misunderstood the question.

The Question was "Why don't you invest in Amazon?". He said because he's [more]

Re: Buffett sold IBM shares

If IBM's performance from 2011 through 2017 was known to Buffett, he obviously would not have purchased the stock.

Buffett admits his value of IBM is different today. So..$25 or so of dividends & $10 of appreciation later Buffett [more]

Dividend Likely Sooner Than Later

Buffett was asked about raising the buy price on future buybacks and returning capital.

Thought it was interesting that Buffett himself raised the dividend issue in answering even though it was not part of the question.

Dividends, I respectfully take a different approach to evaluating the "missed opportunity". I think it omits context as laid out long before the IBM investment by Buffett

In the context of this $400 Billion enterprise, it's one [more]

Buffett says IBM has not performed the way he anticipated when he began accumulating shares. He says pre tax earnings have declined in recent years by a third. And he says the quality of the earnings is not as good. Remember, a key factor Buffett [more]

Warren brought very specific attention to the real value of float. He certainly hints we should assess a value to float with intrinsic value calculations. Refers to float as an "asset" even though it's a liability, as he again [more]

Something this big you don't jump on immediately. My take is...he's pushing drastic action behind the scenes. No need to initiate change via press release.
