Re: Time Machine Help

My internal hard drive is NOT listed.

That's correct. It should not be in either list. It can't be the backup destination, so it won't be listed as a Backup Disk. And you DO want it backed up, so it won't be in the exclusion [more]

Re: Time Machine Help

The list in the "Options" panel is the "Exclude from backup" list.

And the way you worded your original post, it appeared you were talking about backup destinations (where the backup gets put) not backup sources (what [more]

Re: Time Machine Help

You can never back up a disk to itself. If your internal HD is your boot drive, it can't be the Time Machine backup destination.

Re: Cable Modem to AirPort Extreme

Hook the modem to the airport extreme, then hook the computer to one of the ports on the AE. Turn off both the modem and the AE. Turn on the modem, wait until it has completed connection to the Internet. Then turn on the AE.

Or, better yet, don't pay the extra principal to the mortgage. Put it in a dedicated investment account.

Re: optical cable

That cable will work fine. But, if both the TV and receiver support ARC (Audio Return Cable, I think), then the HDMI cable going from the receiver to the TV will feed the sound back to the receiver. In theory, that is. Turns out the LG TV I got a [more]

On this board, and elsewhere, they claim the target is 195F. So I wasn't horribly off, but a bit. No?

BBW is not an exact science. 195-205 is the right range.

Re: Self-employed or not?

This is wrong. Both employee and employer parts of FICA are capped. It's only Medicare that isn't capped, and that applies to both employee and employer.

That's what I get for trying to understand the logic by reading the form. Must [more]

Re: Self-employed or not?

If her full time job pays $118,000 or more, it seems to me that her obligation has been fully covered by her full time job - both the employee portion and the employer portion.

Employer portion is not capped. So her full time job [more]

Apologies if I've misunderstood the original question.

I think you must have, because no domain registrar (that I've ever heard of) does business as you describe. All domains are owned by the actual owner. The closest a domain [more]

BTW, the "Unlock Code" is to be entered by the RECEIVING host to transfer the domains over from GoDaddy. I do not have a spot for the unlock code as the the major ISPs do, and I'm trying to figure out what I need to do to transfer the [more]

Re: Self Hosting

First, run away from GoDaddy. Their marketing is great, but their support sucks. I used to use them as the registrar for my domains, and they were OK with that. I would never use them for hosting.

I still think you're confusing hosting vs [more]

Actually, I already have all those handled. My question is how do I handle the transfer of an existing domain to myself? I can handle it to another company that already has the stuff needed to pass onto iCANN, but how do I set it to transfer to my [more]

Re: Self Hosting

One more comment - if you don't understand DNS, start reading now. If you screw up your DNS settings, you can really mess yourself up. When you make changes like that, use a really shore TTL (time to live) on the new settings. Like 30 minutes or [more]
