Re: Poll: How long have you lived in one home.

This is very dated. I live near/in one of the zip codes in the book and there's very little around under a million these days.

My intent of the post wasn't about the price of the asset. That's a given. Feel free to update [more]

Re: Poll: How long have you lived in one home.

Interesting tidbit from Thomas Stanley's The Millionaire Next Door...

Re: Poll: How did you do?

Whatever else we might say about Trump, the stock market obviously likes what he is doing. Our portfolio (100% mutual funds) is up 20% on the year. Much better than the three previous years. I wondered, some more aggressive folks must have some [more]

Re: Mortgage? I hate to ask...

Thanks, PW. Good to hear other's experience.

Our initial down payment on the house, had us at 44.6% of equity. Currently, we are at 65.1% of equity in the home based on current "value".

Re: 401k Fee Levelization

My 401k plan administrator charges 0.20% per year in fees. Seems a bit high. It makes me less excited about their index funds only charging me 0.03-0.05%

Truth be told, that's not bad at all as it puts you at .23 - .25%. Think of [more]

Re: 'Tis The Season For Power Outages...

We have a finished basement with dual sump pumps - both have emergency back up systems that will run for up to 6 hours in a power outage. That's usually been enough to keep pumping the water and prevent a flooded basement, but power outages here [more]
