A learning

So this past quarter, I made a change to force all accounts into exact / near-exact allocation.

So I have two reference accounts now*:
1) Accounts with margin which include shorting
2) Accounts with no margin

And I use IB's [more]

Re: A Few Updates - IBKR

I would recommend those interested in IB should check out their con call transcript from today. It's pretty interesting to see what kinds of things they are doing, and how the industry is shaping up.

I think the stock is expensive (Petterfry [more]

Re: BBEPP

Without commenting on BBEP being a good investment or not, I would strongly suggest that if BBEPP is interesting to you, there is likely better return and more safety buying BBEP bonds instead.

Re: Druck

I have to say that his reasoning seems so obvious. Even if you look back 3-5 years, the metrics the FED seems to be following (to set rates) seem to be a moving target. Bottom line is that we have growth (ok, it's meager), we have <6% employment, [more]

A few recent actions

In no big order, these are recent-ish moves:

Reduced Fairfax - valuation driven, + it was stunningly a large position... still one of my top 5 holdings.
Added LUK - mentioned before... now below (my guess at) managements buyback [more]

Re: A Few Updates - NICK

Tender closed at the max of range in terms of size ($70m), but toward the long in price ($14.85).

I have liquidated most of my shares (not in the tender) above $14.90. I still like NICK but needed the cash for a few things.

Re: Stalwart Screen

It is not typical for skus with identical costs to sell from $70 - $300+ each.

Can you expand on this? You mean a same item is priced differently for different customers? or some newer products have higher price compared to older

Re: Way OT: Magic (MTG) Card Prices

Just a quick follow up.

Sold my cards (for players, I sold a set of 40 dual lands from Revised edition, and a handful of 10 other rare cards) for $3,200 cash to a local guy.

Basically I got bids from a card shop a few guys who's job [more]
