Re: TSLA extends delay on new MS and MX orders...

Unfortunately I'd wager the biggest group of people are coming from model 3 cancellations. Then followed by new Tesla followers after the Starman. Neither of these are bad per se. Too bad Tesla can't actually crank up production though.

Re: Daimler Throws Shade at Tesla...

I got a real kick out of this one. We need to remember this quote for the future. It may very well go up there with Netflix being called the 'Albanian Army' by the head of Time Warner (who is now worth substantially less).

Re: Anybody else nervous at this steep market ra

My first buy was spring 2003. If I had just walked away and never touched it again, I think I would have made about the same or even more than I ended up doing. And I had a pretty convoluted history after that.

I did play with options a few [more]

Re: M3 production tracker

Humorously, that link is to a Bloomberg article that stole the idea and data from TeslaMotorsClub and Reddit. And given it's an attempt to estimate production, it literally works the best the more people see it. First principle thinking, right?

Oh common Ace... nervous? We've been in this stock for what, 15 years?

Yeah - haha. I don't have any legitimate reason to be nervous. I basically doubled my long-term position back in the 90s in 2016, all on margin, and have [more]

I was pretty nervous about the prices at 275+.

Lol. Guess I should be nervous again 6 days later.

Re: Ryan Murphy Inks Giant NFLX Deal...

Yeah this is no joke. Netflix is killing it. Why buy content companies to get their library when they can just snag all their talent for less?

And they were already being sued by Fox last year for pulling executives. Something like half the [more]

Re: Anybody else nervous at this steep market ra

I was pretty nervous about the prices at 275+. Every typical metric and ratio I look at had them trading a bit too high there. At least here at 250, the stock is closer to what I would expect it to be trading at (even 225 is reasonable IMO), and I [more]

Re: TSLA ON SALE NOW NOW NOW!!!

Price is down to the levels of last April

I think if, in April, you had given a median estimate of where Tesla would be on autopilot, energy, and model 3 sales right now you would have guessed much higher. So the fact the stock is at [more]

Re: Profit

So I'll stick to 7K/week as about right.

If I knew what you knew I'd probably say something like that.

The cars sold from here until well into Q4 are the First models and probably the AWD models. They are nearly 60k$ [more]

Re: Profit

Not too hard to bridge +675M$ operating profit from 40k FP cars at nearly 60k$ and 30+% margin a pop, or ~3k\week.

LiFePo and prismatic cells are not going to be a solution for the likes of GM and BMW.

I've yet to see anything about prismatic cells being worse than Tesla's cylindrical. Have you?

LiFePo is definitely an inferior [more]

So far EVs still need conventional tires, but I've been waiting for them to be disrupted at some point soon.

Re: Anybody else nervous at this steep market rally?

Melissa, I began investing in the 90s and remember getting addicted to it because I seemingly could do no wrong. I went through the downside of that. What I observe now is that the market is still functioning and I mean this in two ways:

Re: A simple observation

Consider that 5$ per subscriber would net 7.2B$ at 120M subs. If half went to making films that would be 72 movies at 50M$ budgets. Disney makes 10-12 a year. That's 6 potential movies to pick from per month for 5$\month that you essentially [more]

Re: Ordered my Model 3 today!

Here's a simple example. Put a windmill on the roof of your Tesla for more mileage. There's a decent chance you'll be able to extend your range because while you are coasting you can recover electricity to use later.
