Re: What did I see near Jupiter??

We would also set up in public campgrounds and invite kids to come look. One night we had a good crowd of mostly fundamentalist kids. Husband pointed out to them that if Jesus had bodily ascended into heaven and was "seated at the right hand of [more]

Photos of Gringo's Fenway Park

Well, I finally visited Boston in 2007. It was one of the very last major US cities that I hadn't visited. Took some photos of Fenway during a tour. Along with the album I'm linking to, there are photos of Chicago's Wrigley Stadium (during a game), [more]

Re: Eat garlic...be healthy?

I have been using garlic in almost everything I eat....spaghetti, baked potato, fish, pizza, etc. I don't do it because its healthy but it makes everything tastes very good.

As recently as last Friday you could read articles in the WSJ even though they were behind a pay wall simply by googling the titles of the articles. The google links gave you the material in its entirety. Today I tried it and it no longer works. I [more]

Re: UFO's - some of the best cases

You're doing the logical fallacy thing again. For idle speculation it's fine, but if you're trying to support a point about mysterious lights/objects, it's not.

I'm doing nothing of the sort. Your fallacy is that you keep [more]

How come you never see these things in broad daylight over Atlanta or New York?

But they are seen in daylight and over large cities.

Re: UFO's - some of the best cases

One thing I can be quite certain of is that nothing accelerated to 2000 mph silently. There would be a "boom". A big "boom". The shockwave from a large object traveling faster than sound is well-established in physics (and 2000 [more]

Re: What did I see near Jupiter??

My prime suspect would be stray light reflecting into the scope with some optical distortion. At times I have attached a black paper extension cone to my scope to cut out nasty local urban light that was deviling me.

Has the phenomenon [more]

What he said is an eyewitness account. If accurate that he had a scope, his is arguably better because he had a better view.

I remember that night, and there was no mile-long craft in the air here. The lights were individual flares dropped from the Maryland Air Guard. A kid in town looked at them through his telescope and identified them as airplanes when it was [more]
