Re: Pillars of Eternity

So there's a massive difficulty spike at the end, but the update is going to make the end even harder?

The difficulty spike was on the very last fight.

The patch is supposed to reduce the number of combats but increase the [more]

Re: Pillars of Eternity

Story might need some work, but love, love, LOVE the combat and it's toughness.

Maybe I set it too low but I don't think so. Usually I go second from hardest depending on what the level descriptions s say. I wouldn't ever say combat [more]

Re: Pillars of Eternity

Well that got painful.

I skipped, yeah I SKIPPED, a bunch f quests at the end. I would have had to leave an area and go back and do them. Maybe it would have been interesting but I doubt it. Combat was pretty easy there near the end. And [more]

I'm in trouble....

Okay, I don't know how this managed to happen but this is shaping up to be a very difficult year. First off my wife reopened her business so I'm working with her 4 days a week. I work the 5th at another firm. So most of my free (aka gaming) time is [more]

Re: stupid Internet survey about gamer styles

It wouldn't pull up my personalized list of recommended games because I didn't register but here was my profile:

Action 88%
Mastery 43%
Achievement 81%
Social 92%
Immersion 56%
Creativity 23%

I would say that was [more]

Pure conjecture here but...

I think the asteroid misses or isn't even there.

I bet the white horse people faked it. They've established they can get in anywhere. That would be even funnier in my books.

You, Me and the Apocalypse

Ran into this last night looking for something light and had a good few laughs. Apparently it's a mini-series not a new show. I thought it was okay enough to try again, others didn't:

Just how many of the greatest scientists even in the recent modern ages are males vs females?

Pillars of Eternity

So...I'm playing this game. Supposedly it's excellent and amazing. I'm not so sure.

New worlds are great. New takes on the roles of character classes are great. New ways to use old character classes is fun too. But all of them at the same [more]

Re: Billions

DW and I quit it before Ep. 1 ended. The set up was ridiculous, the opening scene unnecessary, and silly gobbeldygook after. In our humble opinions.

The opening scene was great if you stayed to watch the final scene. Without it , [more]

Billions

We got to it last night. I _really_ liked this. It has real potential. They didn't make the protagonist perfect or completely the underdog and the antagonist isn't all evil and conspiratorial. The best comparison I can make is it's very West [more]

Not sure I mentioned this but I bought a bunch of TCK.B recently.

Too good to pass up and it'll pay off in 5 years.

Re: OT: Star Wars Ep I

I'll have to listen to that later but I've always thought of Ep I-VI being Anakin's story. You could effectively call it, "The Rise and Fall (and Rise again) of Anakin Skywalker". Heck I never presumed that "Return of the Jedi" [more]

OT: Star Wars Ep I

OT because it is NOT a great movie.

So, I've been watching them again with the kids and we got around to Ep I today. I saw it in the theatre and probably another couple of times when it came out on VHS. I'm going to plead nostalgia and a [more]

I think I now get the point albaby was trying to make. Missed it on the first pass. There is no line of dialogue quoted from Avatar in popular culture.

Re: Avatar - Disappearing Blockbuster

I read a piece that said fully half of Star-Wars' opening weekend grosses were due to higher prices at large screen and 3-D format theaters.

I think that was mostly due to, at least locally, only being able to reserve seats at the [more]

I saw it a second time a couple of nights ago.

The 3D is the best I've seen in any film anywhere! Spectacular. It's so good you don't notice it and take it for granted. If you watch the film again flip up your glasses every once and a while. [more]

Update
